Experience from first hands

Four students from our programme decided to experience studying in Europe and took part in double degree programme. Their names are: Julia Stepanenko, Tatiana Slobodchikova, Karina Starodubtseva, Erema Ondar.

Since October, 1 2018 they started their education in Italy and they shared their experience with us.

“It took us nearly a day to travel from Krasnoyarsk to Siena but it was definitely worth it. Now we are renting a flat which is located nearly ten minutes by foot from the university. We were surprised when we discovered that we need to apply to the student card and only with a student card you are allowed to attend classes. Student card can not only be used at the university campus but you can get a lunch with a discount at any café. We were also surprised when we found out that people who are working in the cafes of restaurants know and speak perfect Russian.

After 5 days we finally received our students cards and started studying. The timetable was rather unusual for us. Each day we have 2 or 3 lectures and a long break (3–4 hours) in between. All classes are in English and teachers are very helpful, they provide you with necessary materials and always ready to help if you have any questions. We study with students from different countries: Germany, India, Spain, Kenya, Russia and Italy. The university is located in rather old building and in the hallway you can find desks and chairs, and it is really convenient if you want to do your assignment or work in a group.

The city is quite busy with a lot of tourists. The city is quite small therefore there are not much busses and it is highly advisable to walk rather than use a public transport.

We are really grateful for this opportunity and would be happy to tell you more about studying in Italy.”

Earlier we wrote about another student who had also visited this university, but she was studying “Medical Biotechnology”.
